Our #1 Web Site Competitors in Yahoo under the Search Terms "Dog Houses"

As of recent we had filled a special order for Dog Houses that could house
multiple pets. The outlay, of course was separate rooms for separate pets,
but they, our customer, also wanted the "option" for their pets to be able to
roam from room to room. We had elected to use a transformed version of
our Antique Upscale Model to fit the bill and created a model called the
"Bungalow". Outside of insulation and lights the customer also wanted to be
able to contain, or "keep" their pets in said facility during certain periods of
the day and add fans for ventilation.
Should you elect to build your own shelter and want to be able to "HOLD"
your pets in them for any length of time, please be advised that standard wall
board, frp board, and, or other board types will more then likely not be
durable enough for the job, as many of your medium to large dogs will go
through periods where they will try to get out. I find it absolutely unbelievable
the amount of damage they can cause when executing this desire. We have
photos of window frames destroyed, chewed apart door frames, holes dug
through linoleum and floor boards and chewed up frp board. Similar damage
can also occur if, for example, people trap their dogs in their garages for any
length of time. Give them a way to come and go as they please and the
problem goes away.. Another way to improve your odds against damage is
to install a floor and wall surface that will either take an eternity to dig
through such as 1 inch thick pine, cedar, or oak boards. Or, use a more
indestructible surface such as marble tile, wood flooring laminate, and
Formica (which is another form of laminate). We feel the latter is ideal as it is
waterproof so that it is easy to clean, it is relatively easy to install, and it has
proven to be virtually completely dog-proof. If any glass is to be included
with these units, make sure that it is tempered.
The 4th photo (to the left) shows how the interior of a unit (such as the one
above) was set up. We used laminate flooring on the floor and up 1/3 of the
way up the wall. We used steel corner guards and trim around there-of and 1
inch pine all the way to the top.
The fifth photo shows a trap door that can be held open by a latch (above)
This trap door, when open, makes it possible for your pet to roam from room
to room. Note that doorways, windows and the lower third of your Dog House
will be the target for the greatest damage when "trapping" your dog in them
for any length of time, so these are the areas you should concentrate on
when adding less destructible surfaces.
Multiple Pet Units can be built by Jimbo's in the following formats: Colonial,
Antique Upscale Model and Traditional Models. They can be ordered via
email, or by phone only. We can (and prefer) to put dog doors in these units
as well as doors for you to enter the unit for clean-up and the same.
Specialized surfaces for walls and floors would not be required in this
instance. All other options we offer still apply.

The above is a photograph a Two Dog
Bungalow. The Glass in the doors was
tempered as the customer wanted to
"keep" their pets in them during various
times of the day.
This photo shows a "Bungalow" for 3 pets.
Tempered Glass and Trap Doors
for the pets to roam from room to room
were installed.
This is a side shot of the 3 unit "Bungalow".
For shipping purposes these units are built
and shipped as separate units and then slid
together.
This photo is one of my Dogs (Fred). Barney
(Our other Dog) was napping in the house
at the time.
This photo demonstrates the
Laminate and Pine we used to
insure durability. We would
recommend that you do the same
should you plan to use your house
as a Holding Pen.
This is the trap door we installed. When
open, the dog could walk to the unit next
door. The door is held open by a latch
